How to Get Targeted Traffic Without Adding Keywords to Content

Traffic without keywords in content

Business owners around the globe want people to visit their websites. A website is the first impression for customers looking to connect. In the old days, people would open a phone book to find a business selling the service they needed. That is not the case anymore.

Most people today will search on a computer, tablet, smartphone or laptop looking for a business selling what they want.

Therefore, it is imperative that you have a website, and you can draw people to it. But, how do you successfully get traffic to your website? Digital marketers and agencies will tell you to trust in using the right keywords and placing them in your content pieces.

However, there are other ways of getting traffic to your website. Let’s take a look.

Social Media

Social Media

Posting regular updates on social media platforms and including a link to your website will go a long way in generating traffic to your website. You need to post relevant and engaging content on your social media channels.

Start groups on Facebook, LinkedIn, Reddit, and post in there as well. Have business pages and share your content. You want to have regular chats on your social channels. This will help in generating interest in your product or service and get people to visit your site.

You also want to make sure all your profiles are completed with pictures, summaries, and tag lines. The profiles will include a space for your website. It’s these profiles that search engines use to find you. Make sure you include pictures and videos in your posts.

Be strategic in which sites you choose. Some are good for businesses while others are not and can actually cause harm.

Guest Blogging

Guest Blogging

Besides social media, a good way to entice visitors to your site is to be a guest on popular blogs or news sites. You can usually include your website link in the biographical part of the blog or news site. In the content, you will want to offer tips that will make people want to know more. They will go to your site to see what else they might need to know from you.

If you catch their interest, they will click on the link to your site. Some places will strip your link. In those cases, make sure you put in other information so people can find you.

For example, if you say you are a digital marketing expert, the readers would know to search that term to find your website.

Advertise

Advertise

People think that just because everything is done online today that they don’t need to advertise. You have to keep advertising. You can buy social media ads, Google ads or other online ads. However, you also want print ads and ads on online publications.

If you think about the companies that are well-known, they still advertise in other forms of media outside of the Internet. You can put your website on any printed or online ad. And, if you advertise in a local paper, you will get that ad on their website as well, which provides you a link people can click.

Facebook ads, Google ads and other online ads also will have a link to your website that is clickable.

Promotional Products

Promotional Products

Don’t solely rely on online promotion. Go old-school and put your website on promotional products that you give away at networking and community events. You can buy pens inexpensively and leave them everywhere. Put your logo and website on mugs for promo or a product that has a link to your type of business.

Health organizations put their logo and websites on hand sanitizers or sunscreen. Nail salons use nail files. Pick a product that would work for you and use it to promote your website and drive traffic to it. The promotional products also make you memorable.

If they are trying to remember the company doing what they need, they can see it on your mug or pen.

Videos

Videos

All companies should incorporate videos into their marketing. You can use any type: testimonial, animated, whiteboard, interview, headshot, etc. to generate traffic. Videos tend to rank higher and people are more likely to click on a video in an e-mail blast.

If you put your website in the description and in the video itself, you will improve your chances of getting people to go to your website.
